Eventually the group finds themselves in a new part of the city. The stone is cleaner, the air is brighter, and everything seems far better cared for. Whether this is illusion or truth, it’s hard to mistake the trickling sound of a fountain ahead, drawing you into view of a massive open courtyard. Rising out of the middle of it is a tall building with a strangely crooked spire, topped with a globe like a watchful eye.

Closer, it’s easy to read the carved sign above the doorway.

[ Arya takes a few steps to the nearest shelf. It doesn't take long for one of the books to fly out. She bats it down with her broken net pole, quick as a snake, and it falls open. She picks it up. ]

They're journals.

[ These people planning on setting off on a trap? Arya will be backing away now. ]

[Looks over to Cole with a tense expression]
If something is in a cage, it's usually because people shouldn't take it. Might be wired. Too bad I don't got my lock-picks with me.

All of them? [Forgetting his efforts at catching one from the air, he steps over to a shelf and pulls one off at random, scans the inside, checks another.] ...Amazing.

[He looks up at the rows and rows of shelves above them.] ...Is this world where things go, when residents go home?

I guess? They have names. [ She drops it unceremoniously and grabs another one. She reads the name. ] I know him!

Do you? What's his most recent entry? [Yuan is looking over her shoulder now.] Does it mention people going missing?

No setting off the trap. It could destroy the book, and we don't want that.

If anyone can figure out if it's going to go up in our faces I might be able to break it open.

[He pulls the disc off his back, spinning it between his hands.]

[It takes a little maneuvering, but Yuan manages to get his net around it and haul it down for a look.]

...It's a journal. [He begins flipping through to the final written page.]

We should at least go up there and get a look.

['we' meaning himself]

[Have a curious Zen dude looking curiously at you, Harry.]

Um... [ She flips to the end. Balancing the journal on one hand, she passes the empty pages until finding the last thing recorded. ] It's a prayer. To find lost souls! Do you think it's about us?

I have to agree with Cole on that. [Nods]

I have some experience of traps. [Traps being ancient deadly traps in old ruins...]

[Looks over to the guy with the weir Frisbee] You got lock-picks?

I s'pose a look can't hurt.

[Oh hi other guy called Flynn]

A journal. Looks like similar to the one back... home.

[Opens the books and browse through the pages]

Well, we are lost right now. It's certainly possible.

[His eyes narrow thoughtfully. He picks up his net again and heads straight for the nearest ladder, a clear sense of purpose in his bearing.]

...Would you mind holding this steady for me while I climb? It doesn't look very stable on its own.

Looking won't hurt. I'd recommend not touching anything until we get an idea of what the anything is.

[Listen to your elder, people. This guy has a good few years on mostly everyone here, the exception being the angel.]

I can do it.

[ She hurries past him to take hold of the ladder. ]

Lock picks? No. [He chuckles. With touch he activates the disc, it hums as of the blade edge lights up.] I meant that in more the literal sense.

But taking a look so we know what we're dealing with first is best. Any volunteers?

[And he clambers up it as quickly as he can without jostling it too much, intent on one of the pedestals. When he reaches the top, he starts swinging the net again.

At the quill pen.]

[In fact, Arya CAN see the city. It does out from some distance beyond the library and suddenly becomes a nearly blank expanse filled only with abstract shapes. Beyond that is a glimmer of light, as you may have glimpsed on the first day]

[he raises his hand. he's a good ninja.]

[Geoff's taken quite a few books from the shelf and is sitting cross-legged on the floor, flipping through one of them with a frown.]

[The pen isn't nearly as agile as the books themselves and the ladder is actually quite steady, as if it's meant to be used. He catches the pen rather easily.

At the same time, there is another book, much smaller than the others and a with a bright red cover, flitting just over the top of your head...]

[Flynns are the best, man. He frowns.]
