Day 4

You’ve left the library behind and soon enough the whole city itself. Beyond that is large empty plane, like a blank page, populated with more strange shapes and colors and vague impressions of buildings like half-realized ideas.

The strange white castle that some of you glimpsed from atop the library is nearer now, shimmering at the horizon like a mirage. The only way appears to be forward.

Moreso because, over the city behind you, a large black amorphous shape is growing…

Hope the extra time is enough. [Totally been running with you guys the whole time, yep.]

[ Allen the Sword is beginning to weigh her down, but Arya refuses to discard it. Three days with only a broken handle for a weapon were bad enough. As she runs, she doesn't try to talk; the idiots can waste their breath. She's focused on getting to the top. ]

[She's with you on that, Arya. Why are men so dumb sometimes? There's an awful lot of stairs, and she's rather not get eaten, thank you. She's putting all her focus into getting to that door.]

[Caterina is with the ladies on that. She may not have a deadly illness anymore, but they haven't exactly been taking it easy.]

[Hey, he'd been quiet up 'til this point hadn't he? Dhaos figured he could afford to put in his two gald. Sure is different actually running on stairs instead of floating up them though.]

[Very suddenly, directly ahead of them, a giant metal peace sign drops out of the sky and shatters the stairs. The stairway shakes and it gives way, perhaps knocking the people on it from their feet, then continues it's fall to the ground very very very far below

[ Arya falls back with a cry. ]

What is this thing?!

[Belle's grabbing Arya back from the edge some more, because you do not want to fall down that far.] I have no idea! But it just cut off our escape route.

[Just barely managing not to fall over backwards, Dhaos is rather rattled by the sudden turn of events.]

[That, my friends, is irony in physical form.

Once the shaking dies down there is a small red box that plops down on the stairs, which pops over and immediately begins to chime out an instrumental version of this song]

Arya points at it imperiously. ]

I didn't ask for that!

[ Whatever genius got them that is having a crash course introduction to her needlework. B( ]

[Okay, whoever decided that either of these items were a good idea is going on his list of "people who will go first in the event I lose it."]

I certainly hope someone sends us a long ladder next, because we're in a bit of trouble if they don't.

[Belle is just staring at it... because it's creepy. She hopes the book catches what she says.] How is that even remotely helpful?!

[Caterina is glaring at that thing like she can set fire to it with her eyes. Whoever did this is getting a piece of her mind later.] He's right. We need something to bridge the gap.
